Last week was the first real week of summer at our house. We have started off with a boom, though.
Rowan started swimming lessons at one of my student's houses. It is run by a teacher, and it has been a fabulous experience so far. This week, he is continuing his lessons and will finish up this week! Thursday they canceled lessons last week due to the mere 61 degree weather. Friday we attempted to go, but Rowan got out after 20 minutes saying, "I'm so cold, Mom!" In his defense, it was cold;-)
Thursday we met many of my school friends at the zoo for an outing. It was chaos, but fun for the kids as they ran around looking at the animals with their friends.
Saturday was a family day at our house. We went to the farmer's market here in town and bought some fresh produce. We also bought monster cookies from our favorite Mennonite tent. So Yummy! Then we headed out to Shawnee Lake to do some biking around the lake and let the kids play on the playground. It was a gorgeous morning, and the kids were adorable soaking it all up. After naps, we headed out to the Washburn University Art Fair. The kids made cute little hats, and Alex and I got to look at some amazing art! It was fabulous.
I have finished a book so far this summer, Fifty Shades of Freed. It was a fabulous trilogy, but that is a post all of it's own. I also started working on tagging my clothes for a consignment sale this summer, and cleaned out my lazy susan. We are off and running!
