What a week!
Remember last week, I posted Rowan had gotten the flu from some dear friends:-) Well, the week went downhill from there!
I stayed home with the kids on Tuesday to make sure Rowan was on the mend, and I apparently picked up his bug. I woke up about 1 a.m. on Tuesday night feeling icky and sure enough, it was not good. I spent a great deal of the night traveling back and forth to the bathroom to vomit:-( Alex got the kids ready the next morning and took them to daycare and then on to work he went. I crawled back into bed and regained consciousness about 10:45. I texted Alex that I needed him to bring me some fluids of some sort since I had stopped the persistent trips to the toilet. He texted back that he was on his way home with the flu as well. Ugh!
Bless our daycare lady's heart, she actually drove our children to us later that night after she fed them supper! She really is thoughtful! We got them cleaned up and to bed, and then we were right behind them that night!
Alex went to work on Thursday as he just couldn't miss, but I really didn't think I was ready for work yet. I was incredibly weak (I lost 9 pounds), and I spent the day trying to get some strength back. I at one point tried to pick up the living room, but quickly determined that was way too much work. I napped most of the day and started to eat again.
Friday I made it to work and everyone appears now to be okay. We sanitized what we could in the house, and Isla was the last woman standing. She never did catch it, which baffles the pants off of me, but we are grateful for it!
The 7th graders were thankful for my return as they had 3 different subs during my absence. I think they were ready for some familiarity again, and I was too!
The weekend was spent putting ourselves back together! We put up the Christmas tree:-) and I had breakfast with some neighborhood girls on Saturday. It was fun, and I'm thankful for my health today!

The kids played on Tuesday drawing! |
Sassy LOVES pens. She's going to draw on a wall some day, I just know it. |
Then we moved on to water colors:-) |
Posing for Mom! |
These two really do love each other! Isla was telling Row to look at the camera:-) |
Cheeeeez! |
I love to watch my children sleep. There is such a peace to it! Alex sleeps just like this-both hands above the head. I can't fathom leaving oneself so exposed like this, but it was a sweet sight this night~ |
Row requested biscuits and gravy and eggs Saturday morning. Dad obliged! |
We watched the WiLdCaTs on Saturday! Yeah for number 1! |
Aunt Reesa even came to watch them too! Row was a fan! |
We put up the Christmas tree! Rowan is thrilled~ |
Sassy is doing a pretty good job of leaving it alone! We had to pose to prove it really is up:-) |
